Very nice selection. The Last Picture Show was part of Volume 3 and Criterion still released a 4K a year later.

Curious if Tootsie, The Age of Innocence and/or On the Waterfront will end up getting a 4K re-issue from Criterion at some point.

Thanks for the scoop, as always!

Once again, I haven’t seen any of these.

I’ll have to do my research before dropping the cash that these warrant. Not to mention, the sets, although goregrous, take up a ton of shelf space!

As with most of these, I'm only interested in a couple. I wonder if Criterion will do their own 4k's of On the Waterfront and Tootsie like they did with The Last Picture Show, which was in Vol. 2

Not a weak film in the bunch as far as I'm concerned. Waterfront is an all time great, Age of Innocence gives us another important Scorsese on 4K, Tootsie and All the King's Men are both truly excellent films, worthy of being called classics, Man for All Seasons is maybe a touch stuffy, but has great performances and a lot of wonderful moments, and Little Women was one of my favorite films from 2019 -- and I was disappointed it only got a blu-ray, not a 4K release.

Obviously this kind of thing is the ultimate YMMV, and very personal, but I'm gratified at the complete lack of 'filler', at least for my taste.

So is You Can't Take It with You the only Best Picture winner owned by Sony to not have a 4k release?

I completely blanked and forgot that Criterion put Age of Innocence out. So, that makes Criterion 3 for 3 for the ones I was interested in. We probably won't see the Criterion 4k's until next year, if they do them, going by The Last Picture Show's Criterion release vs the Classic Collection release.

My guess is that Criterion will eventually re-release On The Waterfront, Tootsie, Age of Innocence in 4k at some point with all the extras they included, which makes me wonder what extras will be in this upcoming boxset

I’m in. A few of these movies I’m not too sure of, but I’m collecting the entire series, so I will get Volume 5 at some point. Even though I don’t always care for some of these movies in the series, I want to support them. I hope and plan to watch all of these movies at some point (I’ve already watched a few I never thought I would watch: I didn’t die).

Little Women Gerwig fans should be thrilled but I’m all for the 1994 version and no Marie Antoinette ….

But Im still in for this set. When Criterion released the BLU for Age of Innocence I was stunned at how great it looked so the 4K should be gorgeous

Criterion-wise..On the Waterfront is a lock for a 4K re-issue, but Tootsie is a close second. Tough call which will come first- Tootsie did get a Laserdisc from Criterion, so perhaps it will have a slight advantage.

I feel like Age of Innocence will come as well. 6 films in the collection from Scorsese. I don’t see Criterion skipping over that one. We’ll see what happens especially if Criterion lost the rights to these films.

A solid collection of films! Personally, I've not seen All the King's Men and am not crazy about A Man for All Seasons.

Somehow, the best title selection yet in this series! I adore, adore, adore all of these films except All The Kings’ Men, but I’m happy to revisit it. And so happy to have so many BP winners on 4K at once - what a delight!

I am curious if the other Little Women will still be included somehow - Sony has loved throwing extra features in with all of these sets, and that along with the remake of All the King’s Men seem like two obvious picks.
