No special features and audio downgrades. Also No Time to Die (2021) got a disappointing release in Scandinavia.

Surprised at Sir Ridley allowing this kind of treatment . I wish the studios would make their minds up , UHD is either the 'Premium' format or it isn't ?? This was released with an Atmos track in cinemas so it's a bit ridiculous that they won't release it in 4K themselves but stymie a foreign release with a drop down 5.1 mix ......

In what way exactly? It's the same Universal release that everyone else got.

You would think that yes. But BD-66, no special features in 2160p and no Dolby Vision either. Standard Blu-ray affected as well.

Interesting, first time hearing of a different NTTD disc.

On closer inspection neither this nor NTTD are Universal, as there's no Universal Pictures Home Entertainment logo anywhere on the back(unlike say Nobody). MGM titles are distributed by a "SF Studios" in Scandinavia and it seems the discs are produced by them as well.

Universal is in the credit block and, if I recall correctly, their discs are now distributed by SF Studios.

That's bizarre. Any explanation from SF as to why they failed to use the Universal materials? I'm surprised that would even be allowed by Universal in the first place.

I don't even see Universal listed here, so I assume this is simply a domestic Scandinavian release from SF.

Yes, the Universal logo is there because it was distributed by them theatrically, but the disc itself is not Universal, as there's no mention of them in the text at the very bottom(both on NTTD and House of Gucci).

Edit: Nevermind, I just checked and SF films distributed them theatrically as well, so not really sure what's going on.

It would have gotten a 4K release in Germany for sure if it was a local distributor, but sadly it's Universal.

I actually pre-ordered this yesterday together with Copshop and another cheap item and think it's an upgrade over no 4K disc at all. Which appears to be the case with the US release for all I know for now.

In Italy it will be distribuited by Eagle Pictures, not Universal. Case is very similar to Addams Family 1 and 2 animation movie, so maybe a 4K edition will be issued for Italy. Finger crossed and let's wait for anouncement (here film arrived later in thetaers, middle of december).

I read from Finnish forum one nonsense explanation SF gave to a customer who went through the trouble of contacting them. Retailer said that the question went all the way to MGM. Apparently this is what MGM Nordic/Europe? answered: "Dolby Vision was dropped from Nordic release because they opted for alternative (HDR10?) solution with better colors". Yeah, I know. Pathetic and just shows how the people responsible have no understanding of technical side of things what so ever. Real reason being make it as cheap as possible and maximize profit as long as possible. No doubt, many will buy it for full retail price. It's a new Bond film after all. I know, I did assuming it will be the same disc as in "international" version. As a side note 4K discs in Nordic Craig 4-film box were the same discs as in US version.

For anyone interested below is the BDinfo of Nordic release. Vanilla HDR10 encoded with even lower bitrate (on average ~8 Mbps lower) than the baselayer of other versions with DV. Reason no doubt that they could fit it to cheaper to manufacture BD66 disc. No extras at all, not even 2nd BD with extras. Chapter selection is the only "extra" . On positive side Atmos audio is included and seems to be 1:1 bit identical to other releases out there.

Retailing for about 45 USD here in Denmark. Hopefully the price comes down a bit before release. If time permits, I'll grab this and compare it to the 4K iTunes stream. This being an SF Film joint I'm not very optimistic.

I read on Swedish forum Minhembio that at least two users have had issues with the sync, with it being very obvious at the gun barrel shot. Adding aprox 2 frames of latency to the audio (83ms) seem to have fixed it. However I don't own this release myself and therefore I cannot confirm whether or not this is an actual issue on the disc.
