Default How many Omnibuses do you Own?

Omnibuses are the God level of comic books. I love collecting these whenever I can find one I want (and a decent price). I have 12-16. The one I would like to get but is OOP is Marvel Zombies. I hope Marvel reissues it; hopefully around the time they release their Zombies show.

I have:

Marvel Omni: 26
DC Omni: 9
DC Absolute: 2
Dark Horse Library: 4

And 7 more Marvel Omnis on preorder that will be released in the next 3 months (it was a great year for Marvel mutant titles).

Most of my big wants that were OOP are thankfully being reprinted: Tomb of Dracula (they better do vol 2 since they reprinted vol 1), the first two X Men Omnis (#1-66), and X Men Fall of the Mutants.

A reprint of Secret Wars would be nice (it appears they are going to be doing an oversized Gallery edition for Contest of Champions next year).

My wish list:
Ghost Rider (I have been getting the Masterworks editions)
X Men vol 2 (the 1991 series with the blue team)
X Factor (I know they have started with the Peter David era, but I want the whole series)
Rom Spaceknight (sadly I know this will probably never happen with the licensing issues)
Spider Girl (I have been getting the Complete Collection trades)
Hellblazer (I know they did the Ennis Omni, but I want the whole series)

Do you keep them on shelves? Mine are just in my long boxes. Part of me would like to put them on shelves, but:

-I have no space for a bookcase.

-More importantly, I think keeping them out in the open will mess up the condition of the books due to the elements.

Just the one at the moment (Daredevil by Frank Miller and Klaus Janson).

I'm picking up Captain America by Ed Brubaker Vol 1 shortly.

I have one bookshelf where I keep some of them (especially the ones I've gotten signed), the others are stored in Sterilite modular stackers in my garage.

Wish I could do more bookshelves, but no more room. The media shelves for my videos take up a lot of space

Omnibuses aren't that good. Damage from too much weight on the spine. Not very easy to use in different positions. Would prefer thinner books.

Book 1 of my Sandman omnibus, mostly fine.

Book 2, brown part doesn't stick to where it should because too much weight was pulling on it.

I find omnibus editions unwieldy and prefer trade paperbacks or hardcovers, but I do have this Spider-Man omnibus that collects every ASM issue from Todd McFarlane's run.

The downsides for me are 1 yes, unwieldy (no light reading here) and 2 very tough to try and get them signed via mail in services for comic cons (again due to the size and weight)...

But I still prefer the omni format. Not only lots of issues in a single volume, but also a good archival choice (sturdy hardback) and oversized. Love the larger page size vs trades, MMWs, etc.

Omnibus are my favorite format to collect/own, but not necessarily to read due to being so unwieldy. I really like the Absolute format from DC, too. I purchased a book hump to read the omni's so I can read them and not damage the book. I have started laying the omni's on their backs to prevent spine damage. My Batman by Neal Adams has sunk out of the spine at the top.

But I have a dozen Batman omni's, 8 or 9 Absolute editions, several other DC omni's. And around 20 Marvel omnibus. I do really enjoy collecting the Dark Horse Library Editions, too. These are beautiful books.

I have a 25-cube Kallax by Ikea shelf completely filled with only Batman books. I'm going to move it to smaller shelves, as I think it may be too heavy with all of these omnis, absolutes, HCs and trades... If anyone is in Maryland and wants a new Kallax unit, it's all yours.

I'd have dozens more if it weren't for my bluray collecting getting in the way. And my retro game collection. lol too much sh!t!

I would consider them a sort of omnibus but i have the whole Walking Dead run split between the 4 compendiums that have been released
