XBR4/5 - Split Screen viewing?

Quick question for the XBR4/5 owners out there. Can you split the screen and watch 2 channels at once?

Random question I know, but it is a feature I use a lot on my old Panasonic LCD projection TV. Nice to have 2 channels going and swap between them, especially for sports.

Sort of......but its more picture in picture than split screen. Oh and it sucks.

Yeah, my old 4:3 61" Sony had the ability to split the screen between inputs. Very awesome to have PS2 on one side and a movie on another so my s/o could watch a movie at the same time on the same TV. Wonder why that feature doesn't seem to exist anymore...

My XBR4 is on hand now. It will split screen, in a sort of weird way, with multiple inputs. The bummer is I cannot watch two different channels at once like my older Panasonic did. Of course, it had two tuners, so that was nice. I will miss that feature, but the PQ on this TV is so amazing I won't miss it much.

if you really felt the need i suppose you could buy an external tuner and connect it via HDMI.

PIP assumes you will use the Ant input as the second viewing source.

I did hook up my VCR (yes, still have one) as a secondary tuner if we really want to watch 2 channels at once.
