This thread lists the cases where are significant differences between the US and UK versions of 4K Blu-ray releases:
2001: A Space Odyssey: -The first prints had an error at around 0:33:40: At the end of the scene of the conversation between Heywood Floyd and the Russians, there is supposed to be a fade out to black, but there's a hard cut to black instead. This has already been fixed in the current US prints (and in other countries as well), but was not fixed in the UK version. Apocalypse Now: -The US version features six discs (two 4K blu-ray and four 1080p blu-rays): 1) Final Cut on 4K blu-ray 2) Theatrical and Redux cuts on 4K blu-ray 3) Final Cut on blu-ray 4) Theatrical and Redux cuts on blu-ray 5) "Heart of Darkness" documentary on blu-ray 6) Special features on blu-ray This same six disc edition was released in the UK in a limited run, and it's now out of print. The edition that is currently being sold in stores is a 3 disc edition (one 4K blu-ray and two 1080p blu-rays), which is missing both the Theatrical and Redux cuts. Aquaman: - Four scenes featuring blood shed were digitally altered on the UK version to remove the blood. Blade Runner 2049: - Due to differences in the discs' metadata, the US Warner version is a bit darker than the UK Sony. - The UK version is missing the "To Be Human: The Casting of Blade Runner" special feature. Braveheart: -The UK Fox version uses a different master from the US Paramount version: The UK version features more saturated colours and removes the hardcoded subtitles on the scenes where characters speak French. Cliffhanger: - The UK StudioCanal version uses a different master from the US Sony version: The US version has more intense brightness and some DNR. The UK version has no DNR but it’s poorly encoded in comparison with the US one. The UK version also removes the hardcoded subtitles in certain scenes. The Fifth Element: -The UK version is a different master from the one used for the US version. The UK version is considered the superior one, as it features improved colours and doesn't have sharpening. Goodfellas: -The US version features 3 discs (one 4K Blu-ray and two 1080p Blu-rays); the UK version only features 2 discs, missing the third Blu-ray with the extra features. NOTE: The Amazon UK exclusive "30th Anniversary Collector's Edition" set includes the same three discs on the standard US version. Léon: The Professional: -The US Sony version includes both the Theatrical and Director's Cut of the film (both in 4K), while the UK StudioCanal version only offers the Director's Cut. -The UK version features both Dolby Vision and HDR10, while the US version only features HDR10. -The UK version offers the option to listen to the isolated music score. The Mummy: -The UK version removes the hardcoded subtitles on the scenes featuring foreign dialogue. Rambo III: -Horse trip scenes were removed from the UK version. Red Sparrow: -Around 12 seconds were cut from the UK version, due to a scene featuring strangulation. Tenet: -Nine seconds were cut from the UK version, due to a scene featuring violence. Watchmen: -The UK version uses a different colour grading and also includes Dolby Vision. Last edited by Azores26; 01-21-2021 at 07:42 PM. |

Different master and encoding, with the most pronounced differences being in terms of coloration. For every person who thinks the Sony version is superior, there’s one who thinks the StudioCanal is, so the best choice is really down to each individual’s personal aesthetic tastes.

What was cut from “The Mummy” and “Rambo III”?
The UK version of BR 2049 has Dolby Vision and uses a different master, right? |

the Mummy wasn't cut but the UK version has player generated subtitles. on the US disc (to the best of my knowledge) the stylized subtitles are hardcoded into the film.
Rambo 3 is missing horse trips on the 4K UK version. Quote:

not so sure if it's significant differences but both Arrival (Paramount v Sony) and Blade Runner 2049 (Warner Bros v Sony) have different PQ...
