I've had a TASCAM Pro CD Recorder for several years now, model CD-RW900MKII. Use it primarily to listen to CDs and, sporadically, to create "mix tapes" out of my favorite CDs to MD (don't ask

I used to run one of these TASCAM recorders many years ago for my work. They work great as a way of transferring vinyl to CD.
As for only hearing 1 channel, I can only think of the following things to check. Do both left and right levels move when you're running the input turntable source? 1. If you're running left-and-right RCA cables from your turntable, be sure there isn't a break in one of the cables either at the connector-end or within the wire itself. 2. Make sure all four connectors are snug in the inputs. 3. Could be a problem with either the output connection from the turnable or an input connector on the TASCAM. 4. Make sure the TASCAM is set to 2-channel (mono or stereo) on both recording and playback. 5. Make sure your vinyl source is actually 2-channel (it may be 1-channel mono). An RCA splitter can remedy this to get 2-channel mono on your CD. Hope this helps! |
