1)Arsenal Gear isn't a metal gear (hence the name arsenal gear not metal gear arsenal) as the pecs for metal gear are they need to be bibedal and capable of a nuclear strike
2)never heard of it
3)I thought they had changed them to the patriots now though?

1) MG Ray, is technicaly not a Metal Gear, it was designed to fight other MG's and has no Nuclear capability. In MGS2, the true Metal Gear was Arsenal Gear, which has Nuclear capability.
Raiden (the guy from MGS) says in the game: "Anti-Metal Gears (MG-Ray's) are protecting a Metal Gear (Arsenal Gear)". When talking to President Johnson.

2) Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP), the story is set a few year after MGS3, the story is part of the MGS saga.

3) As far as I know, those MG's are named Gecko and Irving.

1) MG Ray is capable of a nuclear strike if you listen to the comondants speach he says its capable of a nuclear strike anywhere on the earth. And Arsenal Gear is not bipedal therefore not making it a metal gear.
2)never played portable ops although I do plan on buying it soon
3)Well you might be right but if it is metal gear gecko then they will be controlled by the patriots.

1) "RAY differs from previous Metal Gears in that it is not a nuclear launch platform, but instead a weapon of conventional warfare, originally designed to hunt down and destroy the many derivatives of Metal Gear REX"
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Gear_(weapon)
I don't remember the commander saying that Ray is nuclear capable.

2) I played it and thought it was an awesome game.

3) I think the control of MG Gecko's is whichever Private Military company owns it, and probably modify the AI to their own needs.
I think you are cofusing it with the S.O.P. (Son of Patriots, (I think, lolz))system. This SOP system is in the nanomachines of all the PMC soldiers, watch the latest trailer, Meryl explains what SOP is, and what kind of tactical advantage it gives.

1)the comandant says it was cabable of surfacing on any coastline and can take out enemys with a nuclear strike. though this implies its short range not ICBM.
3)But in the trailer snake talks about the partriots when theres an MG Gecko on screen. And Meryls unit uses SOP so i doubt it. SOP is probably a different one system in a whole bunch of avalable nano machine options. For exaple one variant could control freindly fire one like the ones in raidens blood shows your vital sighns. SOP is a comunication between units device. IMO
