Default Death Note is coming to Blu-ray

Around the 39-minute mark Viz mentions that coming March, Death Note is coming to Blu-ray.

Not coming out until March 2016

Quote:
Hello from the Right Stuf Anime team!
We're contacting you because you pre-ordered VIZ Media's upcoming Blu-ray releases of Death Note from us. This week we were informed that this item has been delayed. Both the Omega Edition and the regular edition of the item were scheduled to be released December 1, 2015, but the release date has now been moved to March 1, 2016. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

If you need to cancel or modify your order for Death Note, please contact our Customer Care team. If you pre-ordered other items along with Death Note to qualify for free shipping, our Customer Care team will be glad to help you split your orders so items that will be released before Death Note won't be held up.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, and have a fantastic day!

Best,
-The Right Stuf Anime Team

Anyways, this video was of Anime Expo from a month or so ago. So Death Note coming to Blu-ray isn't new news :3

I would. I bought that set and popped it into my player, and on a 120" projection screen? Completely unwatchable. Death Note is not that old of a series, I have hopes that the upscale will look as good as FMA's does. I just wish Viz would give us an update about the release.

Yes, but it wasn't uploaded to YouTube by Viz until 4 days ago. And not everyone went to the Anime Expo and had to settle for just reading blogs about it.

Except that we posted and talked about it in the general thread when it was announced.

Well I wouldn't know that, I even did a search for it before posting and it came up nill. I've been away for two months.

Still, when it was announced, there was no YouTube video.

I guess it doesn't really matter: now there's a thread for this release so whatever.

I'll just stick to my DVDs. No need to buy this travesty of an adaptation again.

Funny how I just bought the DVD repackage in the Deathnote looking with Ryuk's face maybe a month before it was first announced.

I'll keep my eye on how the upscale bodes. Eventually, good or bad, I'll probably get it anyways since Viz does well with packaging, but I think that if it's "Sailor-Moon type bad", I'll wait for a price drop.

I have bought this twice on DVD. FIrst as individuals with the figures. The the DVD sets 1&2. Damn you Viz for taking my money again. I might purchase this. It depends on the price and packaging. Also, if the upscale will be worth it.

I bought the complete DVD set in March. I haven't even had it a full year yet and looks like I'll have to buy the set again on BD. I just hope the quality is better than that of Sailor Moon.

Oh man, what a summer.

I watched and fell in love with Attack on Titan and then figured, hey, I'll check out Death Note. Started off strong, then the second and third Kira derailed the plot a bit and it took forever to recover. I still have maybe a dozen or so left, but the pacing after the first act really hurts the narrative.

Maybe I should get into the mangas and finish it that way? Are they superior to the show?

I've only watched the first half of the show but as far as I'm aware besides the ending it's pretty much completely identical. The reason I dropped the show was because it was so damn identical that I felt like I had already watched it a few times from reading the manga.
