The color grade of the 4K restoration of this film is ridiculous beyond belief, among the very worst in existence. So much yellow and green and teal and wildly different from shot-to-shot that I seriously wonder who on earth could have allowed this grade to pass a quality control / review test by either Ritrovata or the owner of the film. I don’t think that any well-intentioned effort can completely hide this disaster but I’d be happy if an attempt would be made similar to Kino’s efforts on the Leone 4Ks. See some screenshots Svet provided over here below the menu shots and restoration credit: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Viole...8/#Screenshots Based on the lack of advertising in that regard I assume Nameless ports the master over as-is. I’d love to support their noble efforts in giving us more Charles Bronson in 4K but this is a candidate you just don’t buy without reading a good review first or better see accurate screenshots. Additionally, it remains to be seen how their encoding turns out. Plaion is the gold standard in the German-speaking region, so finger’s crossed they share the same authoring house. |

It has complete Ritrovata color timing, KL and 88 has an alternative 2K master with better coloring aswell, I'm expecting this 4K to utilize the same ritrovata timed one so I'm not upset I have the 88 Films version

The 4K is a beautiful remaster in my opinion, but I would like to echo the comment about the English language audio (which is the only option for English-speaking audiences, as there are no English subs): the audio abruptly switches between English and Italian, and the Italian audio segments are sometimes quite long, making the story very nearly incomprehensible. I'm wondering if this was some kind of sacrifice made in order to work from different sources to produce an excellent visual, but still a serious disappointment.
