I've never seen this but I'm getting Night of the Demons vibes from the poster and synopsis, is that a good comparison?

Not really, it’s more of a light-hearted campus slasher with a very memorable
[Show spoiler]opening scene
. It’s a lot of fun, but it’s a typical slasher outside of
[Show spoiler]the opening scene
and
[Show spoiler]the vast majority of kills happen in the last 15 minutes
.

For comparison, I would go with April Fools Day in tone.

When I was a kid I always confused this with Night of the Creeps and I knew I liked one and not the other but could never remember and still can't.

NICE! I figured once they started releasing other WB Archives titles this wouldn't be too far behind.

I’m very excited if this is true. This was one of the few horror movies that creeped me out as a kid, particularly
[Show spoiler]the ending possession scene when the main girl starts chasing her friends around, and the last scene when the other girl is possessed and the friend with glasses is stuck in the back of the ambulance with her.
Can’t wait!

The ending is the best part, especially when the song with the lyrics 'These are the best times of our lives' kicks in. Darkly humorous.

IMO, you can never go wrong with an 80s slasher. The movie is sort of a mess with a lot of ideas that don't entirely gel together. Much like Curtains, another Canadian production, the film had a rocky production history with a lot of internal conflicts. However, despite all of that, it still somehow manages to be a lot of fun and the leading ladies are quite engaging and delightful.
There just to be a great website dedicated exclusively to the film. It included interestering interviews with the composer and one of the actresses, but unfortunately I think it's no longer up. I kind of remember them saying that a lot of material was cut? Hopefully SF manages to find it somehow.
Now that SF is going after WA titles, hopefully that means that the great and underrated The Pack is also coming.

I can't wait. This and Deadly Friend are two tremendous additions to Scream Factory. And their both blind buys for me personally... The more '80s slashers on blu the better!

Someone asked about the cut footage and received this response:

The rock band in the trailer is WHITE SISTER they only had two albums and this song was on their second Album "Fashion By Passion"

Their first Album was Produced by Gregg Guiffria (Angel, Guiffria and House of Lords) and it's a hard rockin' tune perfect for an 80's slasher film!

I am stoked for Deadly Friend, but almost more stoked for this finally getting a Blu release--I love this movie. It's underrated and so atmospheric.
