Hopefully somebody might be able to give me some advice. I have a Benq 4K projector and overall I’m very happy with it and HDR in any color but blue looks terrific. However, any movies that have bright blues and neon lighting tends to blow out all of the detail on things like faces.
An example of this would be Argento Suspiria and anytime someone is standing in blue lighting. There is barely any facial detail unless I switch the HRD off. Is there a way to adjust this by color or is there a setting that I am missing? |

My first thought is you have some tone mapping issues. Are you just letting the projector tone map or using another source to do that? Most projectors do a bad job tone mapping outside of a few newer models.
However, you really need to properly calibrate the unit if you have not; a good light meter and software in order to achieve proper color gamuts, greyscale, gamma, etc. Or hire a good pro. |
