The War (1994)- will it appear on Blu ray?

I absolutely love this film and think its Elijah Wood's best childhood performance and am wondering if this will ever it a Blu ray release? It was released on HD DVD, so does that mean it will never get a Blu ray release?

No announcements have been made regarding a BD release. It is actually a good sign though that it was released on HD DVD, this means that the studio was willing to re-issue it with an HD transfer, so one could assume it will eventually find it's way to a BD release, but as to when.... that is anybody's guess.

I was wondering if The War would make in amongst the Universal bargain titles. The HD DVD had nice PQ.

Has anyone seen the Kino Blu-ray yet? Since their review is "mediocre" I'm wondering if any of the foreign editions are the same transfer or better.

P.S. I love the HD DVD slogan, "The Look and Sound of Perfect." Such adorably naive hyperbole for that point in technology.

The mangled syntax is also fun.

It's like the start-up screen on my old off-brand "Yamakawa" regionless DVD player, which would greet you with the huge slogan "FEEL THE REAL" on the TV each time.
