Disney Lilo & Stitch / Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (2002-2005)

Lilo & Stitch / Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch Blu-ray

Coming to the US on June 11, 2013!
Thoughts?

Personally, I'm beside myself it's finally coming. I caught L&S in theaters as a 9-year old, didn't think too much of it, but some years later saw it again as a teenager and fell in love with it. To this day, it sits firmly among my top 15 best Disney classics of all time.

I can't wait. These are some of the best movies from my childhood. If only they released the series...

I think we'll see Lilo & Stitch around the summer (I'm betting for an August release). Anyway I can't wait for this movie, one of the brightest spots from Disney's second dark era (that's what I call the period that goes from Fantasia 2000 to Chicken Little). It better have all the extras from the 2-disc DVD or I'll be mad as hell. I couldn't care less about the cheapquel, the only thing I hope is that they do a classy cover art in the same vein as Hunchback.

^ This promotion art is likely what the characters will look like at the cover.
Which isn't *too* bad.

But seriously, like you said, we're raising the roof if they're clearing out any of the extras to make room for that gosh darned sequel..
Oh well, at least we still have our old DVDs. Most of these extras are in 480p anyway when put on BD..

The thing is, I don't have the DVD. A friend lend it to me and I absolutely love it but I don't see myself buying it right now since a BD release is probably coming this year. That's why I need the BD to be as jam-packed as the DVD!! Please Disney, at least don't screw up this one!!

Great, Lilo & Stitch is my favourite Disney movie and it feels like we have been waiting forever for a Blu-ray release. Day one for me

Another 2-pack? Stitch Has A Glitch wasn't awful, but it wasn't near as good as Lilo and Stitch? C'mon Disney, get it together.

Unfortunately, all Non Diamond films that have cheapquels will be 2-movie collections so get ready for more.

There's not really much *more* to speak of.
Just Emperor's New Groove / Kronk's New Groove, Atlantis / Atlantis II and Tarzan / Tarzan II.. that's it.
Three more. And we'll be FREE

Yeah, not many more left (Fortunately). I hope Tarzan and Emperor's get release this year as well (Atlantis is a given). I can't think why Disney is taking so long with Tarzan since it has already being released in other countries (I know is a crappy release but still) and is not Diamond so I don't see any good reason to not release it yet.

Great news! My daughter and I love this movie. The message of everyone's family being different, but loving each other the same is great. The story is cute, the characters are great, and the soundtrack is indeed fabulous. Day one.

This really shouldn't have a thread yet. Lilo and Stitch is not guaranteed here in the US for 2013. We still haven't got Tarzan, Hercules, 101 Dalmatians and other foreign releases. It can only be speculated at this point.

I think there's also a Hercules sequel/prequel, 101 Dalmations sequel, a number of Pooh spinoffs, and a Goofy Movie sequel...

But yeah, Disney will run out eventually.

And I'd still rather have these come out quickly than have to wait every year for a Diamond Edition.

The fact that it hasn't been officially announced for a US release yet means that I'm not excitedly screaming ecstatically right now, but seeing that it's been announced for release somewhere in the world is still enough to get me very excited. Not just my favourite Disney film, but my favourite film of all time full stop. Aside from being an awesome movie on just about every level, it was one that got me through some really difficult times in my life, which were particularly stressful for me being somebody with Asperger's Syndrome. They are personal matters that I'm not sure I want to talk about here, but I'll just say that Lilo and Stitch got me through those hard times, and 10 years later (I saw it at the cinema in 2002 but it wasn't until 2003 when these difficult times happened), it's always stuck as my personal favourite film of all time.

And I love all the follow-up movies too, it's one of those rare occasions where I genuinely like some Disney sequels. I was hoping for a 4-movie collection, but I guess since Stitch! The Movie and Leroy and Stitch are essentially the beginning and ending of the series, I'm not too surprised that they're not included. I'm thinking I should just buy the Region 1 DVDs of those two.

SHaG is movie-canon (more plots about ohana, Nani's parenting and Lilo's hula classes, no French-knight hamster) so Disney's likely going to split them up and give to the movie what is the movie's, and give to TV what is the TV's. Lilo isn't one of their Diamond titles enough to justify a four-movie set, when even Cindy getting a 3-sequel set is considered prestige.

IF Stitch and Leroy go to Blu--which we don't know yet, as they were ToonStudios DTV--it's not going to be in a four-movie set, although theirs is certainly going to be a neatly bookended double-feature. Parents don't buy 4-disks+ at Target.

I really like Stitch! The Movie as well... I would prefer it over Stitch Has a Glitch but I'll take this anyway!
