Something tells me this will follow the style of the Star Wars and other Disney SteelBook’s this year for Disney 100, kind of been surprised we did not have a Marvel title as part of that lineup yet.

I have no doubt it’s going to be like the Disney 100 series. I’m thinking it’s going to have a small pic of iron man’s helmet on the front and the arc reactor on the back of the steel.

The amount of artistic effort is so minimal, it’s offensive.

TheDiscFather posted different art a couple of months ago I thought.

I know he’s not always 100% correct, well, his sources aren’t. What he posted though was much better than this.

Again, how amateurish and lazy these silver designs are.

In a different context I would not mind them, but generally agree. A way I think this could have worked, have the image on the front actually be a cutout letting you see the arc reactor, similar to the old DVD special edition, and full art on the SteelBook proper. Win win, you’d get a whole line of potentially stunning SteelBooks, but via the slips have a cool add on for consistency across the Disney 100 line as well.

Eventually the design will get to the point where it's just a blank steelbook with the words "(Movie title) steelbook" and nothing else.

Unless it has all the features the initial BD came with, I won't be upgrading. For the same reason I didn't get the previous 4K.

That's a photoshop but I would not be surprised if it turns out looking similar.

Like if there was a "contest: make a joke steelbook that could be the worst, boring, generic and overpriced thing a company could make."

A context where they weren't cranking these out all year.

I thought the last set of disney pop art steelbooks were mediocre but these are far worse.

I think they are trying to emulate the old disney classic dvds that came in those aluminum tins, but these look far worse than those for some reason.
