Default Unconfirmed: Biggest retailer in Spain goes BD

Just saw it mentioned in a spanish board: El Corte Ingles, the biggest retailer in Spain has apparently removed HD DVD from their shelves, claiming that BD is the way things are going.

The poster mentione dthey only had Blade Runner left when he went to one of their Madrid stores.

I can confirm that last saturday, the BD section in the biggest store they have has grown 5 fold, while HD DVD had shrunk to half.

Not a big deal to anyone outside Spain, but let me tell you, if ECI start pushing BD, people will buy it, no mater the price...

If Toshiba officially drops HD DVD then it's officially over. The rest of the dominos would fall instantly.

It might not be a big deal but it's always good to see more and more actors going in the right direction!

Keep the good news flowing!

I think we are not going to be seeing any announcements such as these in very short order as there will be only one HD format anyway!
