Couldn't find one for the series, so apologies if it's hiding somewhere.
With the North American theater release and the 4K restorations of both movies (Childhood's End and The Lights in the Sky are Stars) I'm hoping we actually get those 4K UHDs at some point, but Aniplex has their normal stranglehold on the series so ultra premium pricing I'm sure. They looked phenomenal in the theater and I'm curious to see how they look at home on a 4K tv. TTGL in a theater setting is highly appropriate. I technically already have them since they come with the Aniplex but any excuse to get more (or any) extras would be welcome. |

The movies were released on 4K UHD in Japan and they include English subtitles.

The movies. I didn't know you were talking about the series too. There's no 4k release of the series and probably won't be unless Trigger does their own recomposite job. The existing 2k recomposite is fantastic. Unfortunately it's out of print tho!

The official website lists English subtitles. It's often best to first check there.

I don't know too much about audio but the audio for the Gurren Lagann movie dubbed in theaters went crazy. There was a lot of cool effects used for Antispiral where his voice was like echoing from smaller speakers throughout the whole theater. Not sure if that is an atmos thing or just a mixing thing but I have seen a ton of anime movies in theaters and it was my first time hearing it.

Instant pick-up if this gets a release with the dub anywhere. Crispin Freeman as the Anti-Spiral was a fantastic replacement for Dave Mallow and it was a joy listening to the characters again.

Aniplex would be leaving money on the table if they didn't do a US UHD release with the english dubs. The theatrical re-release was a hot ticket near me, even in standard auditoriums.

I didn't know there was an English dub tbh. It'll probably be the same disc with the dub too then as a bonus.
