It’s getting a US release;
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...ostcount=38079 Heard it’s pretty good, my favourite Aniblogger gave it a good recommendation, plus- it’s Penguins. |

AL thank god has it over here, sadly no word of a cinema release from them bar their Q1 promise when they licensed it I think a year ago now.

I saw Penguin Highway at a premier screening last Fall. it was good.A little surreal but cute. But I'm a sucker for stuff with penguins in it. |

Maquia has hardcoded subtitles when set to JP audio (JP video track has JP credits and burnt in subtitles, EN video track has EN credits and just the dub). 100% unacceptable even if they were forced to. I personally can’t support a release like that.

First and foremost, I would like to collect as many of the original versions as possible, whether it's the picture, the audio or the language of the credits.
Secondly, I'm a Chinese-speaking anime fan, which means that it's much easier for me to read, recognize, and memorize anime cast and crew in Japanese than in English. Since most of the jobs and names in the Japanese anime industry are written in kanji (Chinese characters), it would be much harder for me to recognize them if they were replaced with English and romanized names. ![]() |

Also there's difference ways to romanize stuff, and you can end up with errors. Crediting errors sadly sometimes happen. Then there's the fact there's multiple different ways to read kanji, adding to the problem. A relevant Answerman below...
