I wonder if this will be their 'mystery' steelbook announcement at 15:00 today?

A very good horror although unlike The Conjuring it's not one I'm in any rush to watch again. Definitely worth at least one watch though.

Not nearly as good as it was cracked up to be. I think the problem is that good, or even great horror films are so thin on the ground these days, that a half decent one like this ends up getting hyped out of proportion. Still enjoyable though, if you don't watch many horror films.

Was meant to see this in cinemas but since I started working fixed, full hours weeks turn to months and I completely lose track of things. I used to go to the cinema on my own all the time when I was a Student but now I need discipline to ram it into my schedule by going with my Dad or friends. I guess a preorder instead will do, just a shame it means waiting until February.

Shame, you missed a cracker. DEFINITELY the best horror film of the year, haven't been as genuinely terrified since when I saw Mulholland Drive for the first time.

Babadook is a very good horror film, but it is very disturbing, and not entirely in a fun way. Very well directed and shot and good acting all around.

I just watched the blu-ray this week and I really enjoyed it. It's definitely disturbing on a couple of levels. Well acted, thought provoking, and definitely a film I'm proud to have in my blu-ray collection.

Why is this out so late, it's already available in AUS (at least, haven't checked other countries)

That's because it's an Australian film and they had their theatrical release several months before the UK.

It was released in France a month after Australia and they are getting the Blu-ray next week.

The Aus one is 1080i50 isn't it? I hope that isn't propagated to the other releases, unless that is how it was shot.

It is yes. I was about to import this last week but I'm holding out for hopefully a 1080p release here in the UK or US.

I received my shipping notice for this from Amazon about an hour and a half ago. The OP lists Feb 16 as the release date as does Amazon's listing, however the database says March 2. I'll have to edit it.

I already submitted the correct date over a week ago, was my submission ignored? Somebody changed the date going by some newsletter, but even Icon's own Facebook and Twitter were saying February 16th (as well as every retailer listing it).

EDIT: my copy just arrived from Zavvi! Can confirm all copies (at least initial ones) come with a sealed slipcover

A bit of a correction i've been hearing some Americans mentioning this film and they pronounce it as Bay-ba dook when its actually Bubba Dook

That is all
