This is referring to the Jerry Lewis version of the Nutty Professor. Though I wouldn’t mind the Eddie Murphy version.

Oh, lol.

That is really surprising to me, what a weird title for Paramount to pick as 4k.

It's a popular technicolor film celebrating its 60th anniversary this year year, nothing that surprising about it.

I think the surprise is the fact that the remake is considered to some people to be better than the original that’s why.

Paramount doesn't own that one anyway. Though since it's an Universal movie, I think it'll get a 4K disc eventually

If the remake is to come out, it'll probably be from Shout! (like their Select BD)

Wow aren’t remakes to movies usually tied to the original studio?

Not a big fan of Jerry Lewis, but anyway it just seems like with Paramount's massive catalog there would be hundreds of films they would prioritize before a 60s Jerry Lewis comedy for 4K disc. Maybe that's a good sign for 4K disc, though.

Most of the time, but not always. 3:10 to Yuma is another notable example that comes to mind. The original was a Columbia movie, but the remake was distributed Lionsgate.

Been aware of this film, but have never gotten around to see it. Perhaps this will be the time.

The Poseidon Adventure is another example. The original 1972 film was released by Twentieth Century-Fox, while the 2006 remake, Poseidon was released by Warner Bros.

Not weird at all. It's an immensely popular film from the early 60's.

Been binging this once again recently for the first time in awhile. Such a fun goofy movie. Love the Eddie Murphy film but this one gets me everytime.
