USA Question about cold weather and discs

Hello, I have a question about if this movie disc I bough yesterday could’ve been potentially damaged by cold weather. So last night I bought a new copy of avengers endgame for black friday, left it in my 35 degree Fahrenheit car for a about 2 hours (I had to meet someone), then picked it up the backside (where the disc is actually stored) and rested it onto a table. Could the cold have done anything bad to the disc? Keep in mind, the casebis still in its shrinkwrap and the disc isn’t loose inside of the case. Is there anything to worry about or am I just being my usual paranoid self?

There might be some moisture as it's close to freezing, but I would have thought it would be a non-issue after a day or so at room temperature.

I think it's recommended that you don't take them down below -10°C or 14°F.

But as long as I didn’t do anything stupid, there should be no damage, right? Again, it’s still in its shrinkwrapped box and it was only about 34°F out there that day and it only stayed in my car for about 2 hours

Should be fine. That is not an extreme temperature and it was for a brief time.

Also, keep in mind that most discs are probably not transported in climate controlled trucks on their way to stores.

I am out of town and had shut the mail off. Randomly checked the tracking on my two packages, and turns out my February Vinegar Syndrome was delivered on Monday, even though there was supposed to be no mail on President's Day. And my Slumber Party Massacre 4K was delivered this morning and it's now too late at night to send anyone over there to get them.

Weather has been between 15 degrees and 30 degrees there. So one package has been left out for days, and one overnight in winter weather.

Very annoyed and strangely paranoid about this. Even if they work now, could this prolonged exposure to the cold manifest damage in the long run?

I would be more worried about direct sunlight.

Found this article online:

Quote:
IS THERE ANY DATA LOSS DUE TO COLD?

No, there is no data loss if DVDs are exposed to cold temperatures for a long point of time. The only risk is of breakage or cracks in the DVDs or issues with moisture once they warm back up. If you realize that your DVDs were accidentally stored in cold temperatures, all you need to do is to warm them up (being careful not to drop or damage them) and then clear away any moisture that they gather with the change of temperature.

There is no danger, you are being too paranoid. Too many kids today all they care about is value and not enjoying the movie. Media depreciates like a boulder off a cliff, anything you think is valuable today will be worth not even 1 penny in 10 years time.

Also it makes me laugh how many people don't realize anything at all about how many movies will sit in unheated warehouses, train cars, semi truck trailers for weeks to months in winter in parking lots across the country.
