United Kingdom Queer (Luca Guadagnino, Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, July 2025)

Guadagnino seems to have the power to make anything he likes and his stuff keeps getting more interesting.

Is this going to be another case of Mubi putting out a standard blu, then waiting a couple months to do a UHD version?

Supposedly it's coming out in the US April 1st. This was from Dawn of the Discs. As MUBI released The Substance on 4K in the US, but not the UK, I'm guessing they're doing the same with Queer.

Queer is arriving on MUBI streaming on January 31st. What happened to them releasing their Blu-rays around the same time they hit streaming? I'm guessing there's some kind of distribution/manufacturing issues with their UK operation as it looks like most of their upcoming output are being given a placeholder date of July 1st (which isn't accurate as release dates are Mondays in the UK, not Tuesdays like the US).

Anyway, a shame if Queer got UHD elsewhere and not here, as I've started to buy MUBI UHD titles where possible (though need to upgrade Decision to Leave, as I own the Blu-ray).

I like that artwork looks a bit Scarfeian

If A24 really do have the 4K for April that's probably where my money will go.

Mubi doesn't control Queer in the US, A24 controls it in the US.

I see Madman have it for Australia https://www.sanity.com.au/products/3250178/Queer

No sign of a 4K.

Fascinating:

They'd already changed it to 14 April (from July).

Great to hear! And I just sold off my Decision to Leave BD so will be picking up the UHD+BD very soon too. Glad to add to my MUBI 4K collection.

Shame they still haven't announced a release for The Fall, and gone back and done a UHD release of Suspiria...

Could be a website error, which is not uncommon. I stand corrected, but Madman have never released a BD with lossy audio to my knowledge. I also have quite a number of their BD's, and they all feature lossless audio.

Here's hoping, then. Have any special features been confirmed at this point for the Mubi release? That could be the tipping point for me vs. the convenience of the Madman release (which will likely be barebones).
