USA Classicflix DVD discussion thread

I could swear there was an existing thread in DVD Movies for boutique label Classicflix's DVD titles, unless I was thinking of posts made in other threads where some of their previous DVD releases of older TV shows were mentioned. So if there is an existing thread (I did a thread search and couldn't find a Classicflix thread in DVD Movies), I'll ask for this thread to be closed.

Anyway, the third and final DVD volume of The O. Henry Playhouse: The Complete Series now has a release date. I haven't found a pre-order listing yet on Amazon.com, but a listing page is now up on Deep Discount with a release date (however it's a day out, saying Wednesday, February 21st, 2023).

Below is the Deep Discount DVD pre-order listing page link:

USA Classicflix DVD releases of TV series and Rare Television line

As posted in the Classicflix Blu-ray discussion thread in the Studios and Distributors sub-forum recently, the boutique label are starting a new line, Rare Television, with the first title (DVD-only) being 21 Beacon Street: The Complete Series. The release date stated on Amazon.com and Deep Discount is Tuesday, June 27th, 2023 (title and it's release date are subject to change).

The third and final volume of The O'Henry Playhouse: The Complete Series was released a few weeks ago, but as of the time of writing there isn't a Blu-ray.com DVD listing page for it (there is for the first two volumes) and 21 Beacon Street: The Complete Series.

They've given a lot of love to Bud & Lou, so I'm hoping that the second season of The Abbott and Costello Show is in the works.

USA Angel (early-sixties sitcom being released as part of the Rare Television line)

Full details of the various Classicflix updates are in the main Classicflix Blu-ray thread in the Studios and Distributors sub-forum, but the boutique label have posted their latest newsletter, which includes news about an early-sixties sitcom called Angel, which is getting a likely DVD-only release as part of their Rare Television line.

Default The Unexpected (anthology television series)

Classicflix have announced that they're working on a DVD release of anthology series The Unexpected. The first volume should hopefully be out early next year. Full details of the announcement are in the Classicflix Blu-ray discussion thread in the Studios and Distributors sub-forum (a clip from a raw scan of one of the episodes is included in the announcement).

Had never heard of this series, but I'm very excited about it and I'm confident that Classicflix will do a quality job with this release.

Just got an email with very exciting news:

Extremely Rare Suspense Series The Unexpected Debuts in September

Locked away for decades, ClassicFlix brings the first 13 episodes of a rare suspense series to DVD in The Unexpected - The Complete Series, Volume 1 this September 23rd.

This 1952 Ziv TV anthology production is loaded with guest stars in each episode and is a solid precursor to Rod Serling’s venerated Twilight Zone series which would enthrall TV audiences seven years later.

For all the details, click here.

Areyakiddin, thanks for posting the CF announcement of the first volume of The Unexpected. Been looking forward to reading the details of this DVD release.

Have also looked at the two news articles on CF's website (about The Unexpected and the general news update).

While visiting Classicflix's website to look at the new article (about Aesop's Fables - The 1920s, Volume 1), I found out that the release date for the next title in their Rare Television line, The Unexpected - The Complete Series, Volume 1, has been pushed back three weeks to Tuesday, October 14th.
