Looks like they corrected the background jet silhouette image. The original design used an F-15, but this looks to be a proper F-14 now.

That was corrected months ago and probably part of the reason it was delayed from June to December.

Is the group buy going to be open to non VIPs? In the past I took ultra limited to mean VIP only.

No it doesn’t mean VIP only it depends on VIP demand for it.
If there are enough copies for a Group Buy there won’t be that many copies.
So you would need your Group Buy posting skills in speed racer like condition
