Default Wowhd

Anybody ever use these guys? WOWHD.ca

Appears to be the Canadian site of a UK retailer.

I just placed an order for the Heat steelbook that is coming out in the UK - $14.03 Canadian, which included $.99 for shipping insurance (optional).

I already have this on pre-order with Amazon.uk, as it was on sale a week or 2 ago - now has gone back up to 17 pounds like all the others. Even my sale price is still about $5 or $6 higher than this price.

Interesting site. We'll see what I get.

WOWHD is a rebranded cdwow who shipped to you directly from Hong Kong. Don't know if they still do that (although I noticed there's a WOWHD HK site). No worries though, they don't sell bootlegs.

Cool, always nice to find more competition, or at least other resources for hard-to-find items anyway. Hard to tell if the item I'm looking at is the one I want when a lot of their images aren't available, and the description of the products are very vague.

I'm leery to order, if only because I don't want to get stuck with an edition I did not want.

I used cdwow a few times in the past and it used to take ages for my orders to arrive as they did ship from Hong Kong,I decided today to switch my Heat steelbook order from amazon to these guys simply for the difference in price.
I took out the transit insurance because if they do still ship from the Far East it is a long way for a steelbook to make it without having any dings.
My order is with the U.K. end of the company, time will tell but I hope I don't have any regrets.

I got wind of this site from the Steelbook Deals thread on this site; mainly UK members talking about it.

When I went to checkout for this one, it showed me the same picture as appears on Amazon, so I'm pretty sure it is the right edition.

They only accept Visa, so I should get protection that way, and the shipping insurance should protect me if it comes damaged, or not at all.

Like Zavvi or The Hut, speed of shipping could be an issue, but we will see.

Plus, for signing up and entering my details (sex, birthdate, address), I got a $2 voucher (although you can't use vouchers on sale items). And if you review products, you can also get vouchers. So, it might be a way to get some discounts in the future - assuming they are reputable.

The shop seems to have problems with their security certificate. I cannot enter the site neither with my laptop nor with my smartphone.

Way to rez a dead thread. This is the thread people are using. But, as to your concern, you should still be able to view the site if, when you get the error page, you select "Advanced", then "Continue to [site]". But it will be unsecure and I would not recommend logging in.

Thanks for the hint.

Blame it on the bad search engine of this forums. I entered "WowHD" and this was the only result I got.
