+1. The movie was fine like it was. Except the cheesy hollywood "I love you's" at the end. I do see a directors cut on the way though. It was short, even though it didn't feel like it.

I agree, it was only 84 minutes long but it felt longer. I think it was due to the fact that I was tense throughout like... oh, I dunno, 95% of the movie. The only thing I would've trimmed down on was the whole opening sequence. I would've cut litterally just as little as 2 minutes out of it as it did seem to drag just a tad. Or even just altered it a little. But once the action started it was fine. I may have even made it just a little bit shorter because once the ::SPOILER ALERT:: chopper crashes, it seemed like it could've ended there. But then they had the whole thing with the guy getting eaten and the crap under the bridge. And because of them escaping, it made it highly questionable why this tape was even found. Or how it even survived. Had it been in the chopper crash, it would've been fine and made sense because they could've found the downed chopper and been like "oh, what's this?" and taken a look at it. But yeah, that's just my thoughts.::END SPOILERS::

Uhhh.....I could be mistaken, but wasn't the premise for Titanic based on a true story?
Cloverfield was intentionally left open for a sequel based on the box office performance of the original. Slightly different from "Raise the Titanic". Oh -- wait... |

I believe the sequel to Titanic was called "Titani" and was pitched to James Cameron by none other than Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. It was all about people living in an air bubble under the sea where Leo actually was and explorers come there and call the place "Titani" because the "C" is missing from Titanic. Very emotional story...
