Cinematically, one of the best scenes in the movie. I enjoy cinema's technological advances over the past half century but I also believe we've lost a lot of soul. These days, the above scene would be a 3 day shoot with green screen.

(Of course, the entire movie would be a 90 day shoot with green screen....)

One of my absolute all time favorite movies. Definitely plan on attending a 50th anniversary screening.

I saw this in IMAX at 67th street in NY the last time it was there and it was great. Hoping to see it in 3D-but every theatre near me only has 1 showing in 3D-all at night.

Damn.. I'm busy that week. Do we know if it'll still be booked in premium formats the following weekend or is it just that week?

I always found this moment really funny and pathetic. We know that Vaughn is a weasel. Yet when he shoehorns this etymology of the town's name, he actually just seems pitiably desperate and delusional. Like people would be reassured with "You won't get eaten, we're friendly!". Or maybe it just shows Larry's naivete and reliance on campaigning schmooze. With no capacity to treat the situation authentically.

Just a classic film and nearly perfect. It also hasn’t been dicked with or shown up on some reboot candidate list. Phew. Let’s keep it that way.

I grabbed the 4K steel book recently but might have to get my arse to a local theater to see it if the option arises.

List of the five most popular talking points during my life as a Jaws fan.

5. The actual Indianapolis incident
4. The mythical "original" Kintner death scene.
3. The fact that they shat the bed so badly with terrible sequels and Jaws becoming the original "dead" franchise.
2. The prospect of a reboot/remake/sequel and who would star in it.
1. The book is shite and Hooper bonks Ellen in it.

That's insultingly small for the size of packaging it's been put in.
