Quote:
Two outcasts are drawn together by crime and passion in this early tour de force from director Jacques Audiard. Carla (Emmanuelle Devos, who won a César Award for her performance) is an unappreciated, hard-of-hearing employee at a nondescript construction company. Her lonely life gets a jolt of excitement when she hires a new assistant: Paul (Vincent Cassel), an ex-con who soon enlists her (and her lip-reading ability) in a risky scheme. With visceral camera work and sound design, Audiard immerses viewers in the duo’s increasingly turbulent world, blending noir conventions with complex character development for a thriller of unique depth and emotion.

I love Jacques Audiard's films, although I haven't seen that new one. I haven't seen this yet, so gonna be a blind buy from me.

It's a great film, you won't regret it, I don't understand why there is no French release, too expensive for me to import it.

Just on Blu-ray though, not 4K correct?

In any event, here is the French Blu-ray release. It just goes by the French title in the database, so it's not easy to find unless you know that original title.

You are right, it's only a blu-ray release, that is why I am disappointed, especially since Pathé did the restoration.

While not as well-known, this is one of Audiard's great movies, along with A Prophet, Rust and Bone and The Sisters Brothers (yep).

Bye-bye, good old British DVD.

I have the DVD of A Self Made Hero hope that gets an English friendly upgrade. See How They Fall also needs an upgrade.

I have the new French Blu-ray from this new 4K restoration and it’s superb. Can only imagine how great an actual 4K disc will be. Double dip, I must.
