Default Best Movie Endings of All Times

And discuss....

Personally I love Melancholia. Especially after watching the POS known as Greenland. One of my fav films of all time.

Disappointed that Cinema Paradiso was not on the list.

I just watched The Woman in the Window (1944). And I loved that ending.

I would have added Pan's Labyrinth...

That point at the end where you realize she's just an abused kid about to die and everything else was just her make believe world as a coping mechanism.

That movie leaves me an emotional wreck each and every time I watch it - like no other film ever has.

Good grief, so many.

Just a handful, in no particular order, attempting to not repeat any mentioned already in the thread:

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown
Beetlejuice
The Karate Kid
Batman Returns
Before Sunset
Don’t Look Now
Chungking Express
INLAND EMPIRE
Schindler’s List
Black Swan
As Good as It Gets
A Little Romance
I Am Love
Harold and Maude
Once Upon a Time in the West
Toy Story 3
The Lives of Others
The Beautician and the Beast

And maybe my all-time favorites, Volver, Scissorhands, Two Towers, and Atonement.

That Vulture list is pretty dull, but kudos for Death Becomes Her, haha, that’s on my list too. Some excellent choices, but kind of a blah list overall.

Though Del Toro leaves it open enough to suggest reality and the fantastical could coexist (such as Ophelia getting out of her guarded room).

for the upbeat: BITE THE BULLET
for the reverse: LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR
(both from Richard Brooks)

I love the brevity on FRENCH CONNECTION II, also.

And Se7en. Man, Se7en.

And the Kaufmann BODY SNATCHERS, hellyeah.

3:27 min, still gives me chills.
No wonder Tarantino named Memories of Murder as one of his top 20 favorite movies since 1992
