Sony Bravia XBR4 vs. XBR5 - Blu-ray Forum

Can anyone tell me what the difference in these models is? I am having trouble finding this information. Thanks.

I have 52XBR4 and only difference I found was in the frame -- I preferred the matt finish vs. the high gloss piano on the XBR5.

I believe I read at the time of some "minor" technical difference but nothing significant enough to pay additional cost.

As far as I know, the only differences are

a: the piano black finish on the XBR5 vs. the matte finish on the XBR4
b: 18 months warranty on the XBR5 vs. 12 months warranty on the XBR4

Also if you bought the xbr4 take note that u can interchange the frame to use the Piano black one, should you decide that later on.

I Sold one of these about 2 minutes ago (XBR5) just based on the Piano Black Finish. So don't knock it.

But Personally, I prefer the Sharp 82Us, they're amazing TVs, and Hella Cheaper

I love the 52XBR4. Once i got the settings adjusted I am finding PQ to be great, even the blacks look good. I really debated between this and the Pioneer 150FD but believe I made right choice for me given amount of light in the house. I have the backlight turned off and it creates great picture.

Having just purchased the XBR4 and the BD player in December, I am enjoying so much I have already got over 50 BD's.

Since I buy for both PQ and sound, really enjoyed 3:10 to Yuma.

Whatever you get I am sure you will be more than pleased!!!
