I sometimes think that this may actually be the best cannibal film. It would be great if all of these cannibal flicks were part of a box set.

Last Cannibal World (1977) may in fact be my all-time favorite Italian Cannibal film ever.

To own this film properly restored from the original camera negatives (hopefully

) and presented completely uncut/uncensored on 4K UHD would truly be one of my biggest home media related dreams come true!

I truly feel that Last Cannibal World (1977) is one of Ruggero Deodato's most criminally overlooked/under-appreciated works, perhaps even a masterpiece.

I really hope that this release will also include a CD of Ubaldo Continiello's entire film score.
The main theme in particular is just so bizarre and unsettling. Hell, it still creeps me out!

Plus, this soundtrack has never been officially released before on any format (if I'm not mistaken).

Not to mention the absolutely beautiful Queen of The Cannibals herself, the lovely miss Me Me Lai!

Her death scene in this film is probably my favorite death scene in all of cinema.
I'm not exactly sure why but it profoundly disturbed me the very first time I saw this film and it continues to haunt me still to this day.

So whether you know it as Ultimo Mondo Cannibale, Last Cannibal World, Jungle Holocaust, or The Last Survivor:

This film just kicks some serious ass!

I just hope they don't do something stupid, like what they did with "Four Flies on Grey Velvet" and release it with all the other titles on Black Friday as an exclusive at their website. It was bad enough back then with price and timing, but now 4 times. Hopefully, they'll be regular releases or one fair priced ($100) set, if the worst does happen.

Really good movie, but as far as Deodato is concerned, I like to call this film "practice" for the epic that would come out a few years later...

I feel like I've seen this same exact post on half a dozen different threads throughout this site.

I should know this. Is this the one where the protagonist cries "I'm a man, not a feesh" while tied up in waist high water or is that another film? Lol.
