Default Is Profile 2.0 (BD-Live) spec finalised?

Curious, as many sites claim it's not, yet there are titles out supporting it.

If it's not, anyone know when it's due to be finalised? As many HD DVD fanbots are using the "unfinished spec" card..

It was finalised well over a year ago.
The delay has been the number of players that support it, but there are some. Movies with profile 2.0 support will be available soon , but I doubt there will be much interest outside of HD-DVD fanboys.

All the specs are finalized. BD-Live (Profile 2.0) only adds an Ethernet port and more persistent memory to the machines. However, that memory can be skipped by adding a slot for removable storage. So if you look at the Panasonic BD-30, the only thing holding it back from BD-Live is an Ethernet port.

Can someone provide us with a link to backup that Profile 2.0 is finalised?

Many disgruntled HD DVD owners are claiming it's bad idea to buy Blu-ray as profile 2.0 spec is still unfinished..

Examples:

Don't buy a Blu-ray player right now. Wait until the Profiles get sorted out. Wait until Profile 2.0 is finalize. You never know if movies that take advantage of profile 2.0 features will have problems playing profile 1.0 and profile 1.1 blu-ray players.

It's like buying a wireless router with 802.11n draft. Compatibility issues arise.

The Samsung lawsuit is just the beginning.
This one is worse, this is a legit news site, not the ramblings of a fanboy.

Profile 2.0 or "BD-Live" players will play the movie, support Bonus View and add an Internet connection for Web interactive content and firmware updates. The Profile 2.0 standard is not fully developed and is expected to launch sometime in 2008.

yes, 2.0 is finalized (its 1.1 with an ethernet port/WIFI and 1GB of memory or a slot for removable storage), however their is nothing to say that their cannot be another profile beyond 2.0

I think the HD DVD fanboys are saying that things can go beyond 2.0 (which they can) other than the 2.0 spec being finazliezed.

Its a matter of the players being updated this always takes longer then the software guys making the discs.
