Default More BD Titles Now That DUD is Dead?

With the total collapse of HD DVD, will this in any way spur on more BD titles for release by ALL of the studios?

In a way I hope not, because then I will go broke . But then again, since there will be no competition maybe the prices will go way down so it won't have too bad of an impact on my wallet.

Well just adding a couple more studios will increase the number of movies to buy. I don't think fooding the market all at once is good business practice as people only have so much money to spend.

I think once toshiba makes an announcement you will see an increase ove movies becuase of Paramount and uni. I am not sure if you well see an increase from thos loyal to BDA currently as they have been burning the midnight oil so far this year.

Personally, I'm not hoping as much for more titles. Rather, I'm hoping more effort will be put into the titles studios are choosing to release in Blu-Ray Disc format.

Too many discs are lacking in terms of extra features and often have unfortunate compromises made on the few features contained on the disc.

For example, I bought a BD copy of Con Air last week and was disappointed to find all of the supplemental material to be 4:3 NTSC 480p format -basically just ported over from the old DVD. They could at least include a movie trailer in 1080p format with 5.1 digital audio.

With only one high definition movie disc format and all movie studios releasing on it, that could up the ante in competing for customer dollars.
