So happy to see this. Like you I'm a bit surprised but it's very welcome. Best film I saw last year.

If you go to Viva Verve's website and enter the code Spring30, then you can get this for £9.10, and it's £14.00 on Amazon. The payment is taken now, but you will get the item before release date. The offer will expire soon, and can be used on any item on their shop, including all pre-orders like this one

I've moved my order for this and Shell

Thanks for the tip. Also, here's artwork posted on Viva Verve's site:

What a film, best new film I've seen this year so far. Reminded me a lot of Tarkovsky's The Mirror. Very happy to see this get a Blu.

EDIT: Pre-ordered, thanks for the tip mattyl149.

Not sure on this one...probably needs a watch first. Read comparisons to Tarkovsky quite often in reviews, can't tell if I will like this or not though. Thanks for the code though, ordered a copy of Tabu (blind-buy) and might get Dogtooth too (anyone recommend it? Is it a one-time watch or easily rewatchable?)

Post Tenebras Lux is definitely one to try before you buy, as much as I liked the film I can easily see someone hating it. I've actually read comparisons to Tabu, so you might fare better with Post Tenebras Lux if you like Tabu (I love Tabu, my favourite movie of last year). I'd probably recommend Dogtooth, however I'm not sure how easily rewatchable it is, I've seen it several times, but that was when watching it with friends who hadn't seen it yet, hard to tell if I'd rewatch it otherwise, but I am a fan of the film.

Been meaning to watch Dogtooth for years now, but can't borrow it as nobody has it so might find a cheap DVD copy, or check MUBI or something. I understand it to be part of a Greek 'new wave', and like the look of Alps and Attenberg more...will give them all a try soon.

As for Post Tenebras Lux, I remember being fascinated with it when I first heard about it, and missed it at the cinema. I will definitely watch it sometime. Somebody compared it to Uncle Boonmee I seem to remember, which was one of my favourite films of the past decade. In the mean time, Tabu will do may have a change of heart after I've seen Tabu, hoping the spring offer will still be on...

If you enjoyed Boonmee then I think you will get a lot out of Post Tenebras Lux. I imagine the biggest problems people will have with it are the slow pace and structure.

Only a DVD listed on Amazon's US site, so probably a safe bet that it won't be making its way onto Blu-ray in the U.S for those who want to pick it up in the states.

Pro-B, if you're around: Will you be reviewing this, and if so, when can we expect it?

Anyone pick this up yet? Hard to judge because of the lens distortions but it seems a very nice transfer. The two interviews are pretty brief but I'm just glad its available on blu ray.

One of the year's best. The fragmented "plot" could become frustrating, but the emotional intentions of the film are so clear cut that I got absolutely lost in the film.

I had trouble with the film and didn't feel it was one to re-watch so sold it on eBay last month. I did like the fragmented plot and the cinematography was inspired, as was the sound. Some of the characters just grated with me though...might check out some more Reygadas though. Worth a watch for those who are more adventurous.

I feel this is something that will only become better upon further viewings.
