Many thanks to Brad1963 for posting this news in the Olive Films thread, I thought it deserved a thread of its own:
![]() http://www.bestbuy.com/site/the-wedd..._BfUqpNf264Vaw No Amazon link yet, but I'm sure it'll be up soon. I've been working my way through all of Ang Lee's films since seeing Billy Lynn last year, and this was one of the last ones I needed to see. Glad to see this making its way to BD, I almost ordered an old DVD just to watch it. Now we just need his first film, Pushing Hands, in an English-friendly release. It's only available in an ancient OOP DVD that goes for like $100. |

I watched the disc tonight. It looks decent, and it has a 20 min SD making-of featurette dating to the film's 2004 DVD premiere, consisting of interviews with Ang Lee and James Schamus.
Be aware, the disc bizarrely defaults to having no subtitles on. You have to go into the menu to choose either English subs for just the Mandarin dialogue, or English subs for all dialogue, for the hard of hearing. Last edited by James Luckard; 09-01-2017 at 08:59 AM. |

For those that understand Mandarin or French, Carlotta's French Blu-ray features 90 minutes in extras produced by Fiction Factory, that sound highly likely to be English friendly.
https://laboutique.carlottafilms.com...a9cc1bf7&_ss=r Eat Drink Man Woman has 46 minutes in extras. https://laboutique.carlottafilms.com...sucre-dang-lee |

BTW, I'm not sure the new one can be called an American remake, it's being filmed in Vancouver (though that doesn't necessarily mean it's set there). The original film takes place entirely in NYC. Big portions of it are not in English, but I'd imagine the same may be true of the new version. ![]() |
