Default Demonic Toys - January 28, 2014

Demonic Toys Blu-ray

Saw that this is coming out next month. Has anyone seen this? It seems like it would be up my alley if it's in the same vain as Dolls or Child's Play. Does Full Moon Features do a decent job?

It's 90's direct to video cheese but is fun if you don't mind that kind of thing. I think Full Moon's Puppet Master movies (at least the first 3) are better though.

Child's Play is in a whole different category when compared to Demonic Toys. Where as Child's play at times can be an effective horror series (in the early entries at least) and has moments of disturbing imagery and/or could be considered somewhat scary, Demonic Toys is pretty much nothing but straight Cheese from start to finish. If you enjoy a good Horror-Comedy then you'll do fine with Demonic Toys (And pretty much 90% of Full moon Directs catalog) however be sure to keep your expectations very low, otherwise you will surely be disappointed.

Thanks for the replies. I think initial sales would've been better if they released it this month instead of next. I'll pick this up eventually, but I'm not in any hurry to.

You'll either love it or hate it. Personally, I think that its first sequel Dollman Vs Demonic Toys was miles better.

That's the only one I've seen, I have it on VHS. With little backstory, the general weirdness of that film kept me watching. Unfortunately, my curiosity wasn't piqued nearly enough to scoop either this or Dollman up on Blu.

I remember this one being a fun scary film. I'll definitely be picking up this one sooner or later.

The cover art should read "Screenplay by the writer of Dark City, Man of Steel, and Christoper Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy"

Will definitely pick this up, not quite as good as the puppet master movies (early ones). But still good cheesy fun lol

@KindredCoda: I agree lol, kind of funny that the screenplay was written by David Goyer (Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Dark City etc.).

I think Demonic Toys was way better than Dollman vs Demonic Toys..mostly based on look/feel/atmosphere. The sequel pretty much did nothing for me, neither did Dollman

Not picking this one up just reminding everyone to go for the 88 films version.

You'll get lossless audio, often times a higher birate, nice coverart with a booklet.

For a Child's Play ripoff, I wouldn't pay 10 cent for Demonic Toys!

Meh, for something like this I don't think I'd want to go to the trouble of importing. Thanks for the tip though.

That's the one I'm going for too. I just got their Puppet Master and it's quite a bit better than the US release.

What about the special features? Are they the same or different?

Dollman is great. I saw it just for Jackie Earle. Seek it out. Also, Bad Channels... the other movie that Dollman Vs. Demonic Toys is a sequel to, featuring a Dollman cameo.
