Default Got a surprise call from Sony - they gave me $100 worth of Blu-rays

I had sony call me to take a 20 min survey on the HES-V1000 home entertainment server/ 200 disc blu-ray player I bought last november. They wanted to know my likes/ dislikes, any problems or concerns, what I would like it to do better etc. I am glad they are taking the time to get customers feedback, and hope they listen. At the end I was given a code to put in sonystore.com for 100.00 worth of blu-rays.

here is the link to the sony website

Nice. Well you deserve it, that's a pretty expensive system you got there.

... well if they are to charge you that much for that player, give you back a 100 bucks in credit isn't much to be honest.

I think that was a great gesture on Sony's part. Nice system by the way.

honestly yellow blanket, I think if any company is willing to give you something I think people are greatful to get it!!! especialy that he didn't expect it!!!! come on, don't be the negative guy in the fourm. I'm not saying you have to...but you should appreciate that a company is willing to do that unlike HD dud that won't buy back the dead players/ like sony is in parts of europe.

not at all, i was just pointing out the fact that his purchase is well near 4 thousands. If i was to sell a 4 k product to a customer, $100 rebate wouldnt be bother my company bankroll at all.
And HD_DVD player is just a 100-200 buck, the prices of those 2 unit is a huge different.
It's just like me buying a new car, if it is about 25k, i would expect at least 3k rebate. I know GM run this program sometimes.

Yes but the thing is, Sony did not have to give him anything for the purchase. They did not force him to pay that much for his system. The extra effort they made to make sure a customer is satisfied is what should be appreciated. People these days act like everyone owes them something which shadows over kind gestures like a call back.

just becausce I paid that much does not mean they owe me anything. I bought a 70k escilade, and gm has not called me ti give me anything, Also did a kitchen remodel, and spent 30k on general electric aplliances have not heard from them?
I was more impressed they spent so much time wanting my feedback on how to make it better, and not the 100 credit, which i scored 4 movies with.

And the last thing the guy asked me if I was interested in couple sony reps coming to my house for few hours , and seeing how it was hooked, up and how we were using it. He said I would get like 500.00 worth of sony product.

You haven't mentioned what you think about the HES-V1000. I've been eyeing that one, though I can't afford it right now. Is there a link that tells its full capabilities? Which profiles does it support? Does it store the discs horizontally (it looks like it does) ? Does it have any special features that standard players don't have? (Aside from the obvious stated ones.)

to yellow:

sony has always been good to me, I had a launch PS2 and about 4 years later is wouldn't read my discs and I called sony well beyond the warrenty and they said no problem send it in and we will fix it free!!!! so now I have a PSP PS3 a sony ericsson P1i, sony souround sound, xplod sound system in my car, sony mylo, sony walkman, and a sony TV. I now work at a place that I get to express my joy for sony and sell PS3/PSP's and blu ray movies, JUST BECAUSE OF GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I DIDN'T EXPECT!!!!!! That is my point yellow. You shouldn't have to expect anything that you buy for, I mean just because you go to wal-mart/target (or where ever you get grocerys) and you buy steaks and you don't expect money for it or extra meat. Just appricate what people do out of the BLU. Its called good bussiness.

I mean hell they could be like the $hi1 box 360 and charge you for their own three ring of death or scratching of the disc or catching fire, or disc trays not working, untill they have a massive class action lawsuit before they do anything about it. I think sony is trying to improve upon what they have out there so when it does come down cheaper people like us will want to buy it!
