Bluray only though?

Still preordered. Paired it with the Strangers Chapter 1 steelbook. Which dropped in price for anyone that didn't know.

imo The poster art is the best marketing imagery for this film.

must be a lot of young people in here who don't remember Peechee folders from the 80's

but like lateral said, this is the best marketing from the movie - which was... not good

July 2 is going to be an expensive day for me. Think I have 6 steelbooks I ordered being released that day.

With the 4K being a MOD disc handled through Allied Vaughn, and not a mainstream disc handled by SDS (even the included BD is an alternate pressing, with a different disc label), this doesn’t surprise me. I doubt there will ever be a mainstream retail 4K edition of this movie.

I wouldn't say I'm young, and I've honestly never heard of them. Using that as the inspiration seems pretty obscure either way.

And even if they were taking inspiration from those folders, which come in an assortment of colors, they could have used the same colors that have always been used to market the film, namely white, red, and black.

Like this..

The '80s? More like the '60s (started in '64 or therabouts). I went to HS from '78-'82 and when I started Pee Chee was still fairly dominant but by the time I left it was mostly the newer Trapper Keeper.

I used the 80s as reference since that was when the film was set. I imagine they were used back when you say but I definitely remember them in the 80s but not so much in the 90s and like you said, by that time trapper keepers were more en vogue.
and yes mifune, there were different colored folders but this is really the primary and first one that comes to mind when someone brings up peechee folders.

It's the original color. According to Wikipedia the company was named that because of the "peach" color of their product.

Getting back to the source of this discussion, while I get the design of the Cocaine Bear cover, the "urine yellow" color is somewhat jarring because it's a similar color to the inspiration but so very different...

And you're absolutely right. I'd have bought a 4K steel with just the poster. Sure it'd be just bland and not risky but sometimes simple makes a good steel, as well.
