Default The Chronicles of Narnia 4K

Anyone else want a set of the first two movies in 4K? Disney dropped this franchise like a rock after Caspian underperformed (and then Fox did the same after Dawn Treader), but I hope they'll revisit them in 4K once they start working on legacy titles. The first one is a classic in my opinion and would be a day-one purchase for me, but both films would look stunning with proper 4K transfers and HDR - especially the first one. On my last viewing the CGI held up well, so that wouldn't be a huge obstacle.

Now the third movie is a "Disney movie" too, so i hope a trilogy pack in UHD soon...

I bought a trilogy pack from the UK because, for some reason, they were actually able to do such a thing. But I really do want to see these in 4K. I think the bad cgi would stand out more but who cares. The first movie is sheer perfection!

I hope Netflix doesn’t screw up their series. I’d love to see all seven books put on Film for once, and well.

It's funny. Today I was at my local Best buy and they had A 4k trailer playing on their LG OLED TVs for Disney Plus. I swear I saw a scene from the first Narnia movie in the trailer and it looks stunning. I wonder if 4k masters (likely 2k DI) we're already made and Disney is waiting on releasing it.

Love these films, Price Caspian especially is stunning looking film. There's no HDR transfers available for this film as yet in the Disney vault and no current plans. If Disney's 4K releases of 'Home Alone' and 'Hocus Pocus' do well, it may spark them to do more of their live action back catalog in 4K. Here's hoping! They're currently considering 'Speed' and 'Roger Rabbit' after HA and HP because both those HDR transfers exist in their vault.

I was reminded of these movies (YES, I like all three pretty much equally) because of a Facebook post from their page. LOL.
Anyway I'd be all over a great looking and sounding 4K/HDR trilogy release. The BD releases are quite dated nowadays if you ask me and IMO they are not on par with the very best BD's out there either.
And let's not talk about HP. The UHD releases of those film are not worth buying until they are PROPERLY remastered.
I am happy to say I have just taken the big leap and upgraded my home cinema to 4K and with that I also bought a whooping 80-or-so UHD movies. (Spent over $7,000...)
Anyway, my point was that you could say I'm supporting this "cause" since one of the movies I bought was the big favorite, Home Alone.
And, while it's hardly a great sequel, I still would like to see a release of HL 2 as well.
However Chronicles of Narnia is much higher up on my (Disney) wishlist and also it was so long ago (soon 5 years) since I watched them.

I'd say the chances of seeing these on 4K physical is really slim right now.

Yeah - the series started solidly but after Caspian, which was only decent, IMO it all went to crap. That Dawn Treader thing was just a disaster. Once you take the 4 original kids out of the movies it loses way too much.

Id buy the 1st one in 4K but I also doubt it will ever come out.

I would want the first one but I didn't care at all for what they did with the other 2.

Prince Caspian was the last truly epic and filmic live action Disney film - I'd put its visuals, scope and battle scenes up there with Lord of the Rings, I'd love it in 4K, I enjoyed that it was a bit more adult too.

Caspian is my favorite, although that’s not any knock on the first. They’re both truly so magical and wonderful to me. I think where they went wrong with Dawn Treader was the switch in directors. I would love to see Disney release these in some sort of 4K bundle or box set, though.

I’m also excited to see what Netflix does with their adaptation of the books considering they’re the first to ever get the rights to all the books.

United Kingdom Narnia in 4K

Yep, there are no movies awaiting their first release on 4K that I'd rather buy on UHD BD than these three. Here's hoping that one day The Silver Chair, The Horse and His Boy, The Magician's Nephew and The Last Battle get made into movies too.
