Default New Pie chart I found on the studios backing Blu-ray

Please note that the purple means supporting both formats, though that should change soon. And also that Paramount one too.

You might as well make Weinstein purple, for all that they've done for either format.

Who made that chart? That has to be the worst chart I have ever seen. LOL it has universal as purple and Weinstein blu? Miramax should have been purple it's blu on the chart, not that it matters anymore it's all blu NOW!

The above quote came from an article in the newest issue of Home Media Magazine entitled Weinstein Co. Bows Third Rail. I thought it was interesting given their silence these past few months in regard to HDM.

I thought Universal was pretty clear that they're going Blu, not purple. Any residual redness/purpleness is due to the lag involved in catching up to current events.

Quote:
"While Universal values the close partnership we have shared with Toshiba, it is time to turn our focus to releasing new and catalog titles on Blu-ray."

"The path for widespread adoption of the next-generation platform has finally become clear. Universal will continue its aggressive efforts to broaden awareness for hi-def's unparalleled offerings in interactivity and connectivity, at an increasingly affordable price. The emergence of a single, high-definition format is cause for consumers, as well as the entire entertainment industry, to celebrate."
When they're talking about releasing titles on Blu and talking about there being a single high-def format, I think that adds up to only releasing on Blu.
