I remember the first time I used my debit card to pay for something that only cost $0.97, I thought, "Wow, how bad is it that I don't even have $1 on me?"

Now, I don't care. I use the debit card for everything, when possible. Same as cash, and no messy clean-up.

for those who still save their pennies, i work at commerce bank and they have a FREE coin counter (like Coinstar)...it takes all kinds of coins and doesnt charge you anything and you dont have to be a customer...i know it seems like i'm advertising but the machine gets to be a pain half the time since we have to change the bags that it fills up...pennies do suck, but trust me, if you save em up its worth it to get bills from changing them in

This was on the Digg Top 10 last week. And I buried it.

Right on. I hate change of all kinds. If it wasn't for change I'd keep more cash on me. Change and gas station pumps . . . I hate touching them. Everything less than a dollar on its own should be sold in bundles that cost a dollar.

Think I'm weird about touching change and gas pumps? Next time you get gas, smell your hand

I never use change for any purchase because I always break a bill. I save all of my change in a peanut jar and take it to the Coinstar once a month. Don't forget that there is NO FEE if you choose to get an Amazon gift certificate. I can easily save $20 per month.

Lol. I use a napkin or something to hold the gas pump. I am not fond of touching 100000 other people and then transferring it all over myself and my car.

Exactly. I do the same thing, plus I keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in my car. Just look at the people who get gas and ask yourself if you'd want to hold hands with them. Blech.

What kind of a person has to swear multiple times to indicate his disdain for pennies? It's like I aways said, "F" is sometimes a BIG word for small minds.

Yes, same way here. Purell - a godsend! Never used to be like that but the last few years, I am noticing people are getting a bit "dirtier" and that's being nice.

I agree. Same stuff over and over. I pretty much got the point from the title. Was not fond of the constant high school verbiage. It's like he just discovered the word and the internet all at the same time!

Here we can carry enough in a small number of coins for a nice lunch.

We don't have paper $1 and $2 (which were very popular here) any more, only coins.

I swear that sounds like the Angry Video Game Nerd. It is made by the site that makes his reviews too. So it might be.

He's the most foul-mouthed video game reviewer. But he's pretty funny.
