Got to watch this over the holiday weekend - I am, frankly, impressed that movies like this are being made today.

I do not know if the incidents portrayed here are even remotely typical of Germany's school system, but I dearly hope not. The movie is infuriating at times, when you see how badly things are getting bungled by various of the characters in the school where the film takes place.

I don't think there's "good" or "bad" characters here - just people who are desperately trying to make the best out of a bad situation and not always knowing how to react to the situations they're faced with.

Truth be told, this is the kind of movie that a lot of folks might fight aggravating or off-putting, so I would recommend it but with that small caveat.

This has already been shortlisted for the Oscars, so at least it will get a little bit of distribution here in the US.

I saw this earlier this week at my local theater. Riveting from beginning to end in my opinion. It also made me think what a nightmare job being a teacher must be.

Good movie, good acting. I can recommend watching it because what's happening on the screen at least keeps you from getting bored. It keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire film. But it's not a movie I would watch again. Plus, I can't stand endings that don't give clear answers. I don't understand why they leave it up to the audience to figure out what the author meant. Also, some of the teacher's actions are questionable. When she needed to smooth things over and get the principal's support, she just plows ahead recklessly.
