With a total running time of around 304 minutes, I’m pleased to say that The Falcon And The Winter Soldier season one will be presented across two 100GB discs, showing again that while Disney uses 66GB discs for most of its releases, it is prepared to use the larger capacity 4K BD discs to reduce video compression requirements for content with particularly long running times.

The US soundtrack will feature a Dolby Atmos mix, though as usual with Disney 4K BD releases the Dolby Vision master available on Disney+ doesn’t make its way to disc. The 2.39:1-ratio HDR transfer is presented in the standard HDR10 format only.

When it comes to extra features, up first is a featurette on Cap’s Shield, where Anthony Mackie and the creative team behind The Falcon And The Winter Soldier discuss what the iconic accessory represents - as well as the challenges involved with bringing the potentially cumbersome prop to life during filming.

There will also be a gag reel, and two deleted scenes: One showing Sam and Rhodey bonding while flying together, and one where Bucky brings a special treat to Sam’s family gathering.

Finally there will be a making of documentary featuring a mix of cast and crew charting the globe-trotting production process.
