So any Mumbai-ites here planning on going for the MAMI fest which runs from 19-24 Oct?
I got the general pass and was at my keyboard this morning waiting for the 8am opening of the booking for tomorrow's slots. The booking window didn't open for a couple of minutes for me (even when I refreshed the browser), and when it did, pretty much all the movies I was interested in at the PVR Juhu venue were sold out, which sucked massively for me. It felt like the film fest equivalent of IRCTC touts gaming the system. I hope it doesn't repeat tomorrow. Both me and a friend want to see Girls will be girls, especially since someone she knows made the film. For tomorrow, I ended up booking a few slots at Regal in Colaba (including Emilia Perez, which is described as a 'musical crime comedy'), so if anyone's headed there tomorrow or any other day of the fest, gimme a shout and we can try and meet in person. |
