I was already over the moon with the Paramount release but knowing that Eagle’s is on the way is something else. OUATITW is in my all-time top 5. Also looking forward to the audio Eagle use.

It will take some time probably so as not to cannibalize their regular Blu re-issue they're just putting out this month.... but if they wait too long, all potential Italian buyers will have imported the German disc

It should definitely include the English audio, though it could be that it's "only" the original mono. However, going by the previous Eagle 4K Leone releases it could well include the 5.1 version as well. On top of that you'll get the Italian dub which is always a nice bonus with these movies, I feel.

Probably no English subs, though.

- Italian DTS-HD Dual Mono 2.0

- Englis DTS-HD MA 5.1

Dumb question. Is the master sourced from Paramount or Eagle doing their own scan?

The master should be the same, the encode definitely NOT (thank God)

In an ideal world Leone Film Group would release the "Italian Cut" that is longer than the "Film Foundation" Cut...

If the DNR is baked into the master there's not a lot Eagle can do.

It's Paramount. They don't limit themselves to one or the other. They work diligently to ensure both DNR and terrible compression come together as one. Such is their dedication to the UHD format.

This. So if it is the same DNR baked in master, I am unsure how Eagle will come to the rescue. I believe it will just resolve whatever grain that is left better but do you think it will be be noticeable from reasonable viewing distances?

They can release it on a 100gb disc for starters
