Actors who aren't great, but ARE great in one role.

I see some actors who seem sort of average or okay in most everything, but are great in their signature role.

Two that stick out to me, are Brent Spiner and David Duchovny.

I think Spiner is awesome as Data and I can't see anybody else doing the role, but when I see him in anything else I find him a weak actor. And it's not about the fact that I only see him as Data. No, I don't pigeonhole actors who are famous for a certain role -- I watch them with an open mind.
Same deal with Duchovny.

Anyone feel the same way about certain actors.....
