According to early retailer information, on May 10 Echo Bridge Home Entertainment will release on Blu-ray no fewer than seven movies from the Miramax/Dimension catalog: Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest, Dracula 2000, Equilibrium, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, Hellraiser: Bloodline, Supercop and Texas Rangers. List price is $19.99. No disc details are available yet.

Sweetness, one of my favorite films. Hopefully it will be in 2.35:1 and I can finally sell my Japanese HD DVD, which looks great but the DD+ track just doesn't do it justice.

Is it 2.35:1 like it's supposed to be? I was going to buy the Japanese BD, but decided to hang onto my Japanese HD DVD because the BD is about $60. I only paid $25 for the HD DVD.

Given how Echo Bridge operates, the disc may be nothing more than a simple repackaging of the Alliance BD from Canada. Echo Bridge does not have the resources to strike new transfers and release loaded special editions. This will be a BD you will be able to buy at Walmart for under $10. Do not expect a disc on par with the Japanese Blu-ray.

According to all the Echo Bridge blu-ray reviews at blu-ray.com, the quality of their blu-rays are awful. Why are they handling these movies? Usually, they deal with "worse-than-B movie" movies.

Is there any possibility that any of their blu-rays of the Miramax/Dimension films would be good quality?

Considering that right now all that talk is just... well you know, talk, who knows. It would be nice for the film to be actually viewed before the firing squad gets it's orders to fire.

I don't see why this would be the same transfer as Alliance used. They basically handle all of their Canada exclusive releases in-house, that's why so many of their titles have the OAR screwed up. I'm sure this disc will be much better, just like the US versions of Scream
