It's beautifully shot so - even though it's largely set on a train - it should look great on Blu-ray. It's real Sunday evening, comfort-food viewing.

Still disappointed this didn't get a Blu Ray release when the remake came out.

The saddest part is that even a good transfer would be in 1.78:1 while the Studio Canal release is more accurate to the theatrical aspect ratio. If SC were to release this on UHD, that'd be the clincher to finally buy a player. |

Why hasn't this movie gotten a US release yet? Is it an international rights issue?

Paramount had American rights to the film, but hasn't bothered to do a BD. Interestingly though, SC licensed the making of doc that Paramount made for their DVD back in the day, and included it on their BD. |
