It looks like Samuel Goldwyn Films is bringing Blueberry (aka Renegade) to Blu-ray on 5 March 2024.

Was looking in to getting a copy of this, but held off because it wasn't in stock at Bullmoose, my normal provider. Checked out Amazon and saw that it was out of stock there too. And some of the reviews gave me pause because they all mentioned the lack of subtitles for the Native dialogue. All the aforementioned reviews were from the past few weeks so I wondered if the complaint was with a digital release rather than the physical edition. I wonder if there was an error with this release that was caught before street date.

It could be for the DVD too or just a comment in general since people tend to make reviews for many different reasons and Amazon mixes the reviews for all products. My guess is this got recent reviews in Feb because the new listing caused it to pop up in peoples' radar on Amazon.

As Amazon owns MGM, I am cautious about buying the disc because I think it most likely will lack subtitles as well. This is a deal breaker for me. My "Renegade" DVD is still watchable.

And it wouldn't be the first time Sam Goldwyn Films put out a release with subtitle problems. Their first release of Apocalypto only offered an SDH track, instead of both English and English SDH subs.

Can you confirm that the Native dialogue is subtitled?

Native dialogue is not subtitled from my sampling. In some cases it shows "(SPEAKING IN NATIVE LANGUAGE)" from an SDH perspective, but not always.

EDIT: I emailed SGF to see what they say. I did email them back when they releases Apocalypto and they eventually corrected and provided an updated copy.
