Disney Lucasfilm reportedly planning to reboot Indiana Jones

These kinds of rumors should usually be taken with a grain of salt, but this one comes from The DisInsider, which correctly predicted several months ahead of time that Disney would make The Incredibles III.

So, what does the "DisInsider" have to say about the potential reboot of the Indiana Jones franchise?

Quote:
Are there any early plans for what’s next in the Indiana Jones franchise?

Lucasfilm is letting the franchise rest for a bit before they do a full reboot of the franchise. I would expect the studio to announce something next year at the D23 Expo because even though the last film tanked at the box office, Indiana Jones is still an iconic IP and Disney/Lucasfilm do not want to waste that.

So, there you have it, and it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, given that Indiana Jones in the next most valuable franchise for Lucasfilm after Star Wars.

It's just too valuable to be left gathering dust in a museum - er, a vault.
