Yes, but with the UK disc you also get an entirely English-friendly version of the movie, without Italian onscreen text and end title cards.

Exactly. Yeah, you get Dobly Vision but all the on screen texty parts are in Italian. There's really no contest.

I can kinda understandio el Italianio so that's not an issue, it's more the encode itself that's the priority for me. Doubt that Dobly will be essential either given how Mann doesn't generally go for Light Cannon™️ HDR grading. BUT I'm not buying the UK one at full price as it doesn't come with a Blu-ray, you wanna give me half the package then I'm not gonna pay more than half the price for it.

Indeed. And i'd be more on board for the DV thing if it was needed to plug holes in a terrible base layer, but Universal's HDR10 sturff is pretty dang tight. If it was Paramount, or Kino, or Shout... or Studio Canal (jesus, that list is getting long) then i'd certainly be more open to the Italian disc's charms.

Nice on the slip. I ordered it real fast. This was the edition I wanted (for English language compatibility) but I figured it wouldn't have one since Hannibal didn't. Now that I know it does, I need to pick it up sooner. So this one isn't dual format? A little surprised coming from Universal.


I'll be curious if the Universal BD ends up being region free. I have the Decal BD and feel like a Universal BD will be less hacked together looking inside of the UHD's case.
